[IN PICS] 'Eyeing Champions League Once More': Lionel Messi Exits Barcelona, Joins France's PSG

Argentina's legend footballer and captain- Lionel Messi, who recently left behind his boyhood club FC Barcelona, has officially signed his contract with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). The contract is said to be for two years till 2024, with an option to extend. The salary is not confirmed but there are reports of salary being between €35m - €40m.

The 34-year-old Messi on joining PSG said that he will work with all the motivation and desire to continue learning every day.

Taking to his social media accounts, the legend player said "I start a new stage in my life and I do it with all the motivation and desire to continue learning every day. We will work to meet the objectives of @psg. #AllezParis."

Messi made a tearful exit from Barcelona, ending his association with the club he joined as a 13-year-old. While attending his last press conference at FC Barcelona among supporters and journalists, Lionel Messi was not able to control his tears.

"One of the most difficult time for me. Lived so many years at the club. So many good things happened. Some bad things too, but I never imagined to say good bye because I never thought about it. Never imagined it this way," Messi said.

Messi started his Barca career with no.30 jersey and then played with jersey no.19 for two years at Barcelona. If reports are to be believed, Messi had asked for jersey no.19 at PSG.

Lionel Messi has been playing for FC Barcelona all through his senior career of 18 years after his debut in 2004.

Throughout his career, Messi has won four Champions League titles with his ex-side Barcelona. The last Champions League title which Messi won with Barcelona came in 2015.

The greatest football players of all time, he scored a record 672 goals in 778 games for Barcelona. He won a record 35 trophies with the club.
